Hello All!
I'm so glad you are thinking about donating chicken eggs! It's really a self-sufficient, healthy, but doable way to serve the community and help out those who would really benefit!
The website link below is to the egg washing and handling laws specifically tailored to North Carolina egg distribution. However, don't be scared! Since we are all considered "small distributers" (or we will each be donating less than 30 dozen eggs, per person, per week), this means that many of the regulations and requirements to distribute eggs in North Carolina do not apply to us!
...Still, we need to be careful and make sure our practices are ALWAYS as sanitary, responsible, and smart as possible!
You can reach the full version of the Egg Law through the link below, but I will attempt to summarize it's main points. NC Egg Law
LABELINGOn the outside of the carton of eggs, you must:- Clearly, and neatly identify the package as "Eggs".
- List the number of eggs in your carton.
- Write your name and address, beneath "'Protein to the People' -by Anna Keener".
*(For those of you with printers: the "Supplies" section you will be able to find a template with our logo that you should be able to print out and fill in whenever you need to!)*
